Would you be surprised if I told you that maple syrup is actually very beneficial to your body? Not that “Aunt Jemima” crud, but the real stuff. Get ready, because you’re in for a surprise! Maple syrup, for starters, contains numerous antioxidants. It gets a lower score on the Glycemic Index, fights inflammatory diseases, helps protect against cancer, and helps protect skin health. It even supplies vital vitamins and minerals that our bodies need. It’s also an alternative to sugar for improving digestion. So with all that said, yes, it is good for you. But that doesn’t mean you need to go straight to your fridge and down the whole bottle! It’s only healthy when in moderation.
